Article Writing Competition: The Society For Constitutional Law Discussion (Deadline Extended)

The Society for Constitutional Law Discussion (TSCLD) is hosting an Article Writing Competition, open for submissions until December 7th. The competition invites undergraduate students from all over India to submit well-researched articles on contemporary developments in Constitutional Law.

About The Society For Constitutional Law Discussion

The Society For Constitutional Law Discussion (TSCLD) was established by the students of Chanakya National Law University, Patna, with a vision to provide a platform for public discourse and deliberation vis-à-vis Constitutional Law. The Society, through its E-Magazine and Blogs, intends to serve as a platform for students, academicians, and practitioners to engage in Constitutional law discussion and writing. The Constitution gives us the first and last hope for rights, liabilities, and justice. TSCLD provides a platform where you can write and express your opinion on different issues related to Constitutional Law fearlessly.


About the Competition

TSCLD is inviting submissions for Article Writing Competition on contemporary developments in Constitutional Law.


Eligibility

The Competition is open to all bonafide regular students enrolled in any undergraduate course or its equivalent in any University or Institute within or outside India recognised by the Bar Council, State Government, or Central Government, as the case may be.


Format

Authors should ensure that their submission conforms and confines to the following guidelines:

  • Participants will be required to submit an original, well–researched article written in English (UK/India).

  • All submissions must include an Abstract of 200 words and at least 5 Keywords (relevant terms or phrases related to the article).

  • The manuscript should follow a standard academic format, including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.

  • Only a single submission will be accepted from one person.

  • The Word Limit is 1500 – 2500 words. Articles beyond the word limit will be disqualified.

  • Co-authorship is limited to a maximum of two authors only.

  • The Plagiarism should not be more than 15%. Any piece exceeding the limit will be rejected.

  • It should not be in consideration at any other forum.

  • The submission must be made in the ‘Doc’ or ‘Docx’ file only.

  • The subject matter (content) of the article must not contain any obscene matter or language.

  • The organisers accept no responsibility for entries lost, delayed, misdirected, damaged, or undelivered. Incomplete and/or illegible entries will be disqualified.

  • Due credit should be given to the concerned author and/or publisher(s) as a source or in Bibliography and/or reference.

  • The copyright of the manuscript shall remain with the editorial board of TSCLD. However, the moral rights will be vested with the author(s).


Formatting Guidelines

  • Font (Throughout): Times New Roman

  • Heading Size: 14

  • Font Size: 12

  • Line Spacing is to be maintained at 1.5.

  • The submission shall be properly structured with sub-headings/sub-topics.

  • The submission must have hyperlinks to the sources, including any judgments, laws, treaties, or legal text that are referenced. Hyperlinks must link only to legal or respected news sources.

  • References that cannot be hyperlinked may be cited in the endnote.

  • Citation style for Endnotes: Times New Roman, Font Size 10, line spacing 1.0, OSCOLA 4th edition style of citation.


Submission Procedure

  • The authors should submit their entries manuscript using the Google form.

  • The Author’s name, designation, and contact details must be duly filled within the form, and no marks of identification must be present on the manuscript.


Registration Fees

There is no registration fee for the Article Writing Competition.


Submission Deadline

November 30, 2023.


NOTE: In light of numerous requests received from participants, we have decided to extend the deadline for submissions. The new deadline for the article submissions is now December 7, 2023.


Prizes

  • The top 3 entries will be published on the TSCLD Blog as winning entries in the competition and will receive a shout-out on the TSCLD socials.

  • Other entries deemed suitable for publication will also be notified for publication.


Declaration of Result

The tentative date of declaration of results is December 15, 2023.
