Submission Guidelines

The Submisison Guidelines have been updated. Please review before submitting your manuscript.

The Society For Constitutional Law Discussion (TSCLD) invites submissions for its Blog on Constitutional Law under various themes of contemporary relevance. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis for now.

Submission Guidelines

  1. The central theme of the article should deal with constitutional law covering relevant and contemporary legal and policy issues. 

  2. The title of the blog post should not exceed 10 words. The use of AI-generated titles is prohibited.

  3. The word limit for the blog post is 1500-2000 words. Any piece exceeding the word limit is acceptable at the discretion of the editorial board in exceptional circumstances.

  4. Similarity should not be more than 15%. Any piece exceeding the limit will be rejected.

  5. No use of AI Tools such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Copilot, etc. is permitted. Non-adherence to this will lead to summary rejection of the piece.

  6. This submission should be the original, unpublished work of the author(s). It should not be in consideration at any other forum simultaneously.

  7. Document Type: (.doc) or (.docx) file only.

  8. The language for the submission of a manuscript will be only English (UK/India and not USA).

  9. No reference to the name, institutional affiliation, or any other details of the author(s) in the document to facilitate the double-blind review process.

  10. Submissions should be analytical in nature and should not merely be descriptive and they should have a clear angle and central argument. They should also contribute something new to the existing literature.

 

Formatting Guidelines

​Submission should be mailed in a Word document with the following formatting:

  1. Heading Fonts should be set properly in the Word document itself. H1: Times New Roman; font size- 14, Bold.

  2. Subsequent Headings should be set to a font size of 12, Bold.

  3. Body: Font - Times New Roman; Font size- 12; line spacing- 1.5.

  4. The document should be justified.

  5. Use double quotes and italics when quoting verbatim.

  6. References must be in the form of hyperlinks to primary sources, including any judgments, laws, treaties, or legal text that are referenced. Hyperlinks must link only to legal or respected news sources. The editors make the final decision over what constitutes a primary source. (Use of India Code for statutes and original Judgment from the website of the Hon’ble Court is suggested wherever necessary instead of Indian Kanoon).

  7. Use of endnotes should be limited to circumstances where a hyperlink reference is not available. For endnotes, the Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA) (4th Edition) must be adhered to.

  8. Endnotes (if used) shall be in Times New Roman, font size 10, line spacing- 1.0 and justified.

  9. No speaking endnotes are allowed.

Copyright Policy

  1. Upon acceptance, TSCLD will hold the copyright for published content. Authors may republish their work with prior permission from TSCLD, provided that full acknowledgement of the original publication on TSCLD is included.

  2. Authors retain moral rights over their work, including the right to be attributed as the original author.

Submission Procedure

  1. The authors may mail their manuscript to articles[at]tscld[dot]com or fill out the Manuscript Submission Form here.

  2. All the entries will be screened by the editorial board before publication.

  3. The authors, by submitting their entries, will be deemed to have divested the copyright to TSCLD. However, all the moral rights shall remain with the Author(s).

 

Publication Timeline​

  1. We aim to complete the review process within 21-30 days. In extraordinary circumstances, the process may extend beyond this timeline, but we will keep authors informed.

  2. Authors are welcome to reach out to us at any time during the review process with questions or concerns regarding their submission.
